Name the occupied space and mounting condition first. For recessed work, include ceiling type and aperture restrictions. For suspended or high-bay work, provide mounting height and structural limitations. If the environment is damp, dusty or routinely cleaned, describe the exposure rather than listing an IP number without context.
Then state the performance target. Useful details include task-plane illuminance, desired CCT and CRI, glare objective, operating hours and emergency-lighting responsibility. Where a control system is already selected, identify 0-10V, DALI-2, switched operation or the sensor platform and note who owns commissioning.
Include calculation files or schedule references in your follow-up email if they are available. Product marks and performance data are confirmed at configuration level.
The project desk first checks whether the information is sufficient to define a product family. If a key constraint is missing, the response will request that input before proposing a configuration. When the basis is complete, the review can identify a lumen range, mounting route, optical family, environmental boundary and driver interface for further verification.
A preliminary route is not an approved submittal. The exact IES or LDT file must match the optic and output package used in the calculation. UL, CE and RoHS references are confirmed against product-level documents; no certification statement on this page applies automatically to every model. Rated lifetime also remains conditional on drive current and thermal environment.
Attach the calculation geometry, surface reflectances, maintenance assumptions and target values when available. For a physical mock-up, record mounting distance, meter position, supply condition and control level. These details allow another participant to repeat the check and distinguish a product limitation from a changed project assumption.
